LOUGH VIEW

This bespoke dwelling was developed as a rural infill site overlooking Carlingford Lough in Co. Down. Planning conditions informed the ridge height of the dwelling with the plan arrangement focussing on maximising natural light to the internal spaces and facilitating views to the surroundings. The 1.5 storey element accommodates the cellular bedroom and ancillary spaces with the single storey entrance block providing access to the open plan vaulted ceiling space housing the kitchen/dining/living area. Traditional materials including natural slate, smooth render and timber cladding are used together with zinc roof cladding and strategically positioned large glazed openings to create a clean and crisp contemporary appearance for the building.
