The client brief called for a contemporary house design on this idyllic seafront setting in Kilkeel, Co. Down. The L-shaped house layout is a response to the orientation of the site in order to maximise natural light to the interior of the main living annex and to focus both internal and external spaces on the stunning sea views from this elevated site. The traditional building forms of the two main blocks of the house are complimented by using modern detailing and a variety of materials and colours to create a sharp, contemporary aesthetic for this home.
